FAQs for Clinicians

Will the presenting spaces be ADA compliant?

The Grand Wayne Center is accessible and offers a limited amount of wheelchairs for attendees.

Will we be able to make handouts to give attendees prior to the presentation? (i.e. online)

You are permitted to make handouts to give to attendees. Handouts will also be posted on the mobile app and available to attendees if you send them to: [email protected]

Will I be required to provide my own presentation set-up?

Yes, you must provide what you need for your presentation set-up. This includes a device and a connector to the screen projector (ie. a dongle.)

What is in my room?

All rooms are equipped with an LCD Projector, screen and small speaker.  Elementary general music session rooms, particularly in Calhoun A, B and C/D have Orff instruments.

What do I need for the LCD Projector?

We provide a VGA cable to hook up to your laptop. We also have a limited number of HDMI converters if your laptop will accept this. We DO NOT provide any other hooks ups, especially MAC dongles.

Will you provide everything I request for my room?

Unfortunately not. Besides what is mentioned above, you should plan to bring anything else you need for the session. If you have questions please contact local arrangements at [email protected].

When will we know what day, time, and room we will be presenting in?

This information will be sent pending approval at the beginning of September to presenters. Final information will be included in the schedule that is provided on the conference website.

Will parking be available at a nearby location?

For a complete list of downtown parking options, download Visit Fort Wayne’s downtown parking map.

Will we be able to see any presentations by other clinicians?

Clinicians have the ability to register for the conference at a discounted rate.  Refer to the email you received to confirm session time and location or contact [email protected].

Is there a required time limit for our presentations?

Presentations should be 50 minutes in length.

What will be the seating arrangement of the audience?

The seating arrangement will differ for each presenting room. In most rooms, unless you specified otherwise, the seating arrangement will be in theater style seating in rows.

For people traveling long distances, will hotel accommodations be available before the conference begins?

IMEA provides a hotel block that offers rooms at a discounted rate that are in close proximity to the Grand Wayne Convention Center. All other accommodations must be made on their own.

Is there a way we can let people know ahead of time what attendees our session will be most applicable to?

Yes, the sessions are assigned a specific track that relates best with their session. These tracks include but are not limited to: Band, Orchestra, Choral, Technology, Jazz, Special Learners, Percussion, Collegiate, Elementary General, Secondary General, and All Interest.
